Mirena

A couple of weeks ago, I had an appointment to talk to my doctor about switching birth control. I got to my appointment and they told me that I had to re-schedule because they had enforced a new rule where kids weren't allowed in women health appointments. I was frustrated because I didn't have anyone to watch her and they should've told me something like that over the phone. But like they told me, I re-scheduled.

After doing my research and asking my friends their personal experiences, I decided on Mirena. It's low maintenance and unlike the pill, I don't have to remember to take it everyday. It last for 5 years and I don't plan on having kids anytime soon, so it fits into my lifestyle. I did however hear a lot of negative feedback on it. A little bit of me is scared because of the stuff I've heard, but at the same time, I can get it removed as soon as I start seeing bad signs. So I'm not too worried.

My doctor and I discussed the procedure, etc., and I got some of the blood tests and swabs out of the way today. When I get my results in the mail, I can make an appointment and then the day before my appointment I have to go into the clinic and get a pregnancy test done. Not because I think I'm pregnant, but they have to test everyone because you can't be on the Mirena and pregnant obviously.

I scheduled to get Lily's 9 month pictures taken with the same lady that took her 3 month ones. I got lucky and the appointment is the day before her 9 month birthday which happens to be my brother and Jackies birthday :)

I just blogged yesterday and already Lily is doing something new today. A few days ago, she started standing up without holding onto anything for a few seconds, but today she was doing it for 10-15 seconds. My mom said she was going to be walking by the time she was 10 months and I definetly think she was right.

Nap time! :D
